Bio

Nicky Pearson has been singing and performing for as long as she can remember. Born in Yorkshire, England, and raised in a small town in Eastern Scotland, she grew up belting out big ballads by Whitney Houston and Celine Dion—until she discovered the raw heart and storytelling of Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Martina McBride on CMT. That spark never left. After moving to Edmonton over 20 years ago to be closer to family, Nicky began chasing her musical dreams with heart, hustle, and an unforgettable voice.

Over the years, she fronted high-energy country and rock cover bands, released her debut single “I Can’t Stay” with producer Scott Greene at Power Sound Studios in 2015. In 2018 she won Flock Audio’s Recording Contest and released her second single “What We’re Missing” in 2018, produced by Darren Nakonechny of Flock Audio. Her performance resume includes the Giovanni Music Songwriter Series alongside artists like Clayton Bellamy and Trinity Bradshaw. In 2015, she was the Global Country Star Search winner, followed by Entertainer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year honors at the 2016 North American Country Music International Awards in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Her voice—often compared to the powerhouse sounds of Carrie Underwood and Natalie Maines—is uniquely her own. Nicky blends modern country with rock energy and heart-on-your-sleeve storytelling, whether she’s on stage with a full band or performing solo with just her guitar.

But her most defining chapter began in 2021, when a sudden Myasthenia Gravis crisis left her paralyzed and hospitalized. What followed was a deeply personal journey: one year focused on physical recovery, another managing medication side effects and mental health challenges, and the next rebuilding confidence after losing all muscle tone and struggling with vocal fatigue triggered by anxiety and exhaustion. In true Nicky fashion, she didn’t stop. She found purpose in helping others—building a flexible, home-based business that empowers fellow moms and creatives to show up confidently online through her social media and content marketing business.

Today, between cheering at her kids hockey games, mentoring other entrepreneurs, and performing again locally, Nicky is using her voice—literally and figuratively—to remind others that it's never too late to return to what you love. Her mission is simple but powerful: to inspire those with autoimmune or mental health struggles to take up space, make joyful noise, and take baby steps toward their dreams.
